Here is what you can expect when you attend a service:

MORNING FELLOWSHIP
Looking for a time of fellowship before the services get started? We have a group of people who meet together in our fellowship hall between 8:00-9:15a, sitting around a table and sharing a cup of coffee and conversation. Anybody can show up at any time, as this is a come-&-go time.

SUNDAY SCHOOL
Starting at 9:30a, we have our Sunday School classes for all ages.
  • 4yrs old - Kindergarten (Upstairs, taught by Janice Rennie)
  • 1st - 2nd Grade (Upstairs, taught by Jill Nelson)
  • 3rd - 5th Grade (Upstairs, taught by Jennifer Westervelt)
  • 6th - 8th Grade (Upstairs, taught by Doug Westervelt)
  • 9th - 12th Grade (Upstairs, taught by Kregg Rennie)
  • College Age/Young Adult (Upstairs, taught by Andrew Peterman)
  • Adult 1 (Room off of the Fellowship Hall, taught by Todd Lacen, more discussion style)
  • Adult 2 (Multi-Purpose Room, taught on monthly rotations by Dale Helwig, Jay Evans, Stu Schell, & Wayne Thomas, more lecture style)

CORPORATE WORSHIP
Our corporate worship service starts at 10:30am in our main sanctuary. During our corporate worship service, we also have a Nursery available for 0-1 yrs old, a Toddler class for 2-3 yr olds, and then Junior Church for 4 yrs - 5th Grade. There is also a Cry Room located at the back of the sanctuary.
*On a month with a 5th Sunday, we do not have the Junior Church, as everyone worships together. We do still provide Nursery & Toddler classes though.

A typical Sunday service looks like:
  • Welcome & Announcements
  • Praise & Worship Set (4-5 songs guiding our hearts to Jesus through song)
  • Communion
    • Communion is going to be located on tables at each end of the sanctuary. Feel free to grab communion as you enter the sanctuary. The bread and juice are stacked on top of each other in cups located in trays. There are offering trays located on these tables as well for our members to give their tithes and offerings to God.
    • During the communion time, a member of the body will guide our hearts to remembering the sacrifice that Jesus made, to take away the sins of the world, and then will pray. After the prayer, everyone is encouraged to partake of communion together.
  • Sermon -- The sermon is where we get to dive into God's Word together, and through prayer and seeking Him, we get to hear from Him. The sermon lasts roughly 45 minutes and is either topical or breaking down a passage. Regardless, the sermon is always filled with Scripture to support the points of the message.
  • Invitation -- After the sermon, there is a song sang providing an opportunity for the congregation to respond to the message. This can look different for each person, depending on what God is laying on the individuals heart
    • Partaking in singing the song in worship to God for what He has done and said
    • There are prayer benches at the front, and so coming forward to the prayer benches and praying to God
    • Coming forward and meeting with an elder or the pastor and sharing what is on the individuals heart
    • Sharing with the congregation a prayer need, or how God has worked on the individuals heart
    • Accepting Christ for the first time and coming forward to speak with the pastor or elder, and sharing the great news with the congregation
    • Following Christ in obedience by being baptized according to His Word (the elder or pastor may speak with the individual about the decision a bit more, depending on the situation)
    • Joining the body of believers at Center by joining the church in membership
  • Closing Prayer -- The service is closed out in prayer, asking God to lead us through the week and that the message would not die in the parking lot (meaning that we carry it with us through the week).
  • Closing Chorus -- A chorus of a song is sung and then everyone is dismissed.

Andrew Peterman, the Lead Pastor, hangs out in the foyer after the service and is excited to meet with people. So make sure you stop by and see him. There are also Connect Cards in the pew backs. These are confidential and are an opportunity for the staff and leadership to pray over those who have come for the first time, as well as giving leadership an opportunity to follow up with newcomers. Turn this card into the Information Booth inside the foyer and receive an appreciation gift from Center!
